Career Unit!!!!

Well that was fun... My guidance counselor and I teamed up to do a whole career unit for Social Studies. The students interviewed different people about their jobs and reported back to the class. We found out about some cool jobs like a ski patrolman and a biologist!

We took a "test" to see what kind of smarts they had and brainstormed a list of jobs that would fall under each category: People Smart, Self Smart, Number Smart, Word Smart, Picture Smart, Music Smart, or Body Smart.

After gathering information the students decided what they wanted to be...for now at least!!! We drew a picture of ourselves on these cute acorns to go along with the darling poem!
We did a 3 paragraph report on what they wanted to be, tools they needed to have, and what they might need to study and be good at in order to do their job. This will be put on a poster along with their picture from our dress up day. The kiddos really seemed to enjoy all the fun!!!
